Privacy Policy

Short version: I'm one person running a web design business. I collect the minimum needed to build you a website and text you back. I don't sell anything about you to anyone.
What gets collected

There are no tracking pixels, advertising trackers, or third-party analytics on this site. Nothing is stored in your browser to follow you around.
The chat assistant
The chat window sends your messages to Anthropic, which runs the AI model that generates replies. Your conversation text goes to that service in order to produce an answer, and is handled under Anthropic's privacy policy. Conversation records may be retained in server logs so there is a record of what the assistant told people.
Please don't type anything sensitive into the chat — no payment card numbers, Social Security numbers, passwords, or account numbers. It isn't built for that and doesn't need it.
Who else sees anything
- Vercel — hosts this website and keeps standard server logs.
- Anthropic — processes chat messages, as described above.
- Your phone carrier and mine — carry text messages, as carriers always do.
- Payment services (Zelle, CashApp, Venmo, Square) — if you pay, they process the payment under their own terms. I never see or store full card or bank numbers.
That's the whole list. Nothing is sold, rented, or traded. Information is disclosed otherwise only if the law requires it.
How long it's kept
Text conversations and emails stay in my phone and inbox as ordinary business records. Chat transcripts and server logs are retained by the services above under their own retention schedules. If you want your information deleted, ask and I'll delete what's in my control.
Your choices
- Stop texts any time — reply STOP, or just stop replying.
- Ask what I have about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted.
- Don't want anything collected? Don't use the form or chat — call or text once and say so.
Residents of states with privacy laws granting access, correction, deletion or opt-out rights may exercise those rights the same way: email or text me. I don't sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and the API key for the chat assistant is held server-side and never exposed to your browser. No system is perfect; nothing collected here includes financial account numbers or government ID numbers, and it should stay that way.
Children
This is a business-to-business service and is not directed at children under 13.
Client websites
Websites I build for clients are operated by those clients. Once a site is delivered, the client controls it and is responsible for its own privacy practices and the information its visitors submit. This policy covers only uidesignsco and its demo pages.
